Frydenbø Elmarin has completed the testing and handover of a 20-meter hybrid service vessel built at Sletta Verft. The vessel is equipped with a fully integrated hybrid electrical system delivered by us — from battery pack and propulsion motors to alarm and navigation systems.
This project is a strong example of what single-source delivery means in practice within marine electrical and propulsion. Frydenbø Elmarin held full responsibility for the vessel's entire electrical system — from initial design through to final installation and handover.
For the shipyard and owner, this means fewer interfaces between suppliers, better system integration, and reduced risk of delays or technical discrepancies between deliveries.
Frydenbø Elmarin's scope of delivery for the 20-metre hybrid service vessel:
All systems are fully integrated and delivered as one complete solution, simplifying day-to-day operations, maintenance, and future servicing for the operator.
The service vessel was built at Sletta Verft and commissioned for Trident Aqua Services. It is designed for operations within aquaculture — a sector where operational reliability and energy efficiency are critical requirements.
The hybrid system allows the operator to run on battery power in environmentally sensitive areas near fish farms, reducing noise and local emissions where it matters most. This is an increasingly important factor in Norwegian aquaculture, where biological considerations and regulatory requirements place clear restrictions on vessel operations.
For shipyards, ship owners, and naval architects, having one supplier accountable for the entire electrical system is a competitive advantage in itself. It means:
Frydenbø Elmarin combines deep technical expertise with the capacity to take full responsibility for large and complex deliveries — backed by Frydenbø Group's industrial heritage since 1916.
Frydenbø Elmarin takes responsibility for the complete electrical system — from concept and design through to final installation and handover.
