Frydenbø Elmarin will deliver a complete electrical and hybrid propulsion solution for BN 220 at Sletta Verft, a new 20-metre service vessel being built for Trident Aqua Services.
The vessel is designed for modern aquaculture operations, where reliability, energy efficiency and manoeuvrability are key requirements. With this delivery, Frydenbø Elmarin will provide an integrated solution combining electric propulsion, battery technology and onboard systems tailored to demanding day-to-day operations at sea.
The vessel will be equipped with a hybrid propulsion system featuring a 1,575 kWh battery pack, two 375 kW electric propulsion motors and two 200 kW thrusters. This setup will provide high manoeuvrability while enabling more energy-efficient operations.
Hybridisation offers several advantages for service vessels operating in the aquaculture industry. By combining battery capacity with electric propulsion, the vessel can achieve more efficient operations, lower energy consumption and greater flexibility in daily use.
Frydenbø Elmarin’s scope of supply goes beyond the propulsion system itself. The project also includes main switchboards, control system, alarm system, complete electrical installation and NAV-COM equipment.
All systems will be integrated into one complete and future-oriented solution, developed to ensure strong functionality, safe operations and efficient system integration onboard. The goal is to deliver a robust technical platform adapted to the needs of modern aquaculture service operations.
This project is a strong example of what can be achieved when shipowner, yard and technology partner work closely together. For Frydenbø Elmarin, it is important to deliver solutions that not only meet today’s requirements, but also provide customers with a solid platform for future development.
We would like to thank Trident Aqua Services and Sletta Verft for the trust, and we look forward to contributing to another strong vessel delivery.
